RedEye mini is Back!
And oh how we’ve missed you…
Earlier this week, new RedEye minis were sent to everyone who purchased a recalled unit this summer. As of today, they are available to new customers, as well.
For those who missed it, we stopped selling our portable universal remote control adapter for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, almost immediately after it launched in late July because of manufacturing issues. Since that time we have transitioned to a new manufacturer.
Thank you to all who waited patiently while we sorted through these problems.
Get ‘em while they’re hot…
More IR codes other iDevice remotes
Our IR code database has grown more than 20% since July
We’ve added 10,000+ new infrared codes, as well as support for many devices and brands that are popular outside the US.
RedEye app users now have instant access to 55,000+ IR codes from 1,400+ manufacturers. Of course if you need to add a missing command or two, it’s easy to manually program RedEye and RedEye mini with an existing remote.
Browser app for original (Wi-Fi) RedEye
If you have the original RedEye base station, you can now use any computer on your Wi-Fi network, and a web browser, to directly access your RedEye--meaning you can use your RedEye remotes without your iDevice if you like.
The RedEye browser app allows users to send commands to IR devices; save a back up file of their settings; copy saved configurations onto new RedEye devices; and more. Check it out:
Future updates will allow users to set up their RedEye, even design/personalize their remotes, all through Internet Explore, Firefox, Safari or Chrome. See release notes for access instructions.
Coming soon to the RedEye app
Why spoil the show with an on-screen TV guide?
RedEye and RedEye mini users in the US and Canada will soon have in-app access to a TV guide for their local cable or satellite service, as well as the ability to create a list of shorcuts for jumping to favorite channels.
Each iOS device running the RedEye app can have its own favorites; so each user is free to build a personal collection of shortcuts, even if their RedEye hardware is shared.
