Welcome
Welcome to the first, official RedEye newsletter. We thank you for signing up, and look forward to sharing some new and exciting developments. From here on out, we plan to publish on a monthly basis to provide updates on new features, community events, and general news about the RedEye. If there is anything you would like to see in this space, please let us know.
What's New?
Beta Program: First, thank you to all of our fabulous beta testers. It has been great to hear from you over the past several weeks, and we think the RedEye has become a better product because of your suggestions and help. At the same time, we regret that we have not been able to involve more of you in the program. Never fear — more RedEye units will be available soon, and the official production launch is just around the corner. We hope to hear from even more of you in the coming weeks.
Recent Developments: We have been busy since June, with six updates to the RedEye application. The latest — version 1.0.6 — is currently awaiting App Store approval. Some new and exciting changes include:
- Feedback for button presses (audible clicks, vibration, neither, both)
- Accelerometer shortcut gestures
- New graphic styling
- Major improvements to latency, network compatibility
Currently we plan on one more release before the launch — version 1.1. This release will include the major features we promised at the outset of the beta program: a database of downloadable infrared codes, and activity templates, both designed to speed the setup process. Of course we will pack in some other goodies, as well.
If you have additional requests or ideas please feel free to contact us at support@thinkflood.com.

Strut Your Stuff: Already have a decked-out home theater? Show it off and have a chance to win a $100 iTunes gift certificate in our RedEye Cribz contest. Send us a photo or video of your setup and we’ll choose the best entry each month for the fortune and a little fame on our fan page.
Learn about Stuff: We recently launched MoreControl, a blog about all things remote control, home automation — and particularly iPhone control. With both serious and offbeat content going up daily, MoreControl is the place for up-to-the-minute news on the remote control world. Stay tuned for exclusive content, such as our forthcoming “Masters of Control” series in honor of the inventors of the universal remote control (turning twenty-five next year), and other luminaries without whom the RedEye would not be possible.
